Un gran incendio se declaró este martes, 16 de abril en el edificio de la antigua Bolsa de Copenhague, del siglo XVII, y su emblemática flecha se derrumbó entre las llamas.

La policía indicó en la red social X que había acordonado parte del centro de la capital, para ayudar a los trabajos de extinción.

“Estamos ante un espectáculo terrible”, reaccionó la Cámara de Comercio tras el feroz incendio.

Cabe mencionar que el edificio es una de las construcciones más antiguas de Copenhague, y en este se estaban realizando obras de renovación. Hasta el momento, la causa del incendio se desconoce y las autoridades competentes se encuentran en proceso de investigación sobre lo sucedido.

Ante la emergencia, varias personas retiraron las obras de artes que se encontraban al interior del edificio en llamas, con el fin de perseverarlas.

El ministro de Cultura de Dinamarca, Jakob Engel-Schmidt, lamentó el incendio a través de su cuenta de X. “400 años de patrimonio danés están en llamas”, escribió. Asimismo, aplaudió los servicios de emergencias y los ciudadanos que colaboraron para “salvar tesoros artísticos e imágenes icónicas del edificio en llamas”.
